# About the Standards

Quality isn’t a guess, it’s verified.

The Interactio Interpreter Badges are built on internationally recognised ISO standards that define what excellence in interpreting looks like in the remote age.

### ISO 23155

Focuses on interpreter qualifications and competencies. According to this standard, an interpreter must:

- Meet the required qualifications and competencies.
- Provide verified proof of education and training.
- Demonstrate confirmed experience working as a conference interpreter.
- Adhere to ethical standards, including maintaining confidentiality, as required by both the event organizer and the client.
- Take responsibility for continuous professional development.
- Collaborate effectively before the event by reviewing and analyzing provided materials in preparation.
- Perform assigned tasks professionally during the event.
- Ensure post-event requirements are fulfilled, including delivering necessary information and maintaining confidentiality at the highest level.

### ISO 24019

Addresses the interpreter's ability to use technical equipment and platforms for simultaneous interpretation. According to this standard, an interpreter must:

- Have appropriate technical equipment to deliver interpretation services.
- Be proficient in using a simultaneous interpreting delivery platform.
- Be able to select incoming and outgoing channels during the event.
- Know how to transfer channels to booth partners.
- Collaborate effectively with booth partners.
- Handle minor technical incidents during the event.
- Navigate the platform smoothly and assist booth partners if needed.

By aligning our badge requirements with these standards, we guarantee that every badge holder is ready to deliver **professional, secure, and technically flawless interpreting** in the most demanding environments.

# FAQ

### Do all 15 events require to be hired directly by Interactio?

No. Interactio is a software platform used by many clients to host multilingual meetings. While some assignments on the platform are hired directly by the Interactio team, many are booked by our clients independently. We acknowledge and count all proven interpreting experience on the Interactio platform, not only assignments contracted directly by us.

### I haven’t received any assignments from Interactio. How am I supposed to fulfill the requirement?

The demand for our services comes from certain areas and markets that don't always cover the whole range of languages out there. As much as we would love to give plenty of work to all our interpreters, we are limited by the current demand. Good news is, you can work on Interactio via your direct clients or through other providers. The badge recognises your overall knowledge of the platform, not the demand for a specific language combination contracted by Interactio directly.

### How does the application process work?

Submit your profile and documentation during the official application window. We’ll verify your event history, training, and technical compliance, and award badges to those who meet the criteria. Regarding the Lead Interpreter Badge, we will invite you to the awarding workflow individually when you match the eligibility criteria.

### What if I don’t qualify yet?

Don’t worry! We'll clearly indicate missing requirements and give you guidance on what to improve. You can reapply in the next cycle once you meet the standards.

### How long is the badge valid?

Your badge is valid for **one year** from the issue date. To renew, you’ll need to demonstrate maintained compliance: completed CPD, up‑to‑date event history, and technical quality checks.

### How public is my badge?

Badges appear in your Interactio Profile and include a unique identification number that differentiates every badge from one another. They can be shared via a credential link in your LinkedIn profile, email signature, website, or portfolio.

### Are badges only symbolic, or do they carry benefits?

Badges also convey privileges: certificate of verification, proof of work and technical competence, professional visibility, both within and outside Interactio, and invitation to engagement initiatives that connect you with our internal team and global RSI leadership.

### Why does the Interactio Interpreter Badge stand out?

Unlike self-reported or partner-certified systems, our badges are backed by **verified performance data, peer feedback, technical QA checks**, and active involvement in shaping Interactio’s services. A badge serves as a sign of compliance to the ISO standards which are widely recognised and celebrated in the industry. Each badge is individually, on a case by case basis, verified by the industry experts from Interactio Interpreting Service Unit.
